As a part of this year’s Awa Ningyo Jojuri Month “Joruri 100 Stages” event, there will be an autumn show at Ono Sakura Outdoor Theatre on October 25.
In addition to a joruri puppet show and displays of traditional fusuma karakuri (screens depicting a background that can be flipped back and forth using a mechanical device), American artist Adam Avikainen, who has been staying in Kamiyama since August, will present his modern-style painted fusuma karakuri screens.
Time: October 25 2009 (Sunday) from 11:00
The show will go on even in light rain.
Place: Ono Sakura Outdoor Stage (on the grounds of Ono Ten’o Jinja)
For more information: Kazumi Ogawa (090-1573-4027) (in Japanese)
*Lunch and locally made products will be available for purchase.
