At the moment, there is an exhibition of work along the river opposite Kamiyama Onsen as part of Poster Gallery Kamiyama.  Making use of old posters featuring past local events and exhibitions, films and general Shikoku tourism graphics, this new exhibition curated by Naoko Hayashida (a KAIR artist from 2001) is the product of a workshop with Kamiyama residents (young and slightly older).  Remodelling the professional, polished designs of the original posters into unique and idiosyncratic collages and subverting the straight-faced functionality with absurdist humour, the work felt energetic and vibrant.

In Kamiyama help is always at-hand.  (You may have noticed that the sakura is just turning green in this picture; yes, I took these pictures a while ago..)

I saw this egg sac whilst helping out.  It was dry and spongey.

Having a break, I noticed some ants carrying little stones.

The exhibition completed.

Emma-san and Itoi-san exhausted after helping out.  Emma-san managed to coordinate her outfit rather well to the exhibition.
