Dusky 川
Diary 2010.4.2
I took a ride on my bicycle jitensha one afternoon, quite recently. The weather was reasonable and sunny, but damp. My jitensha has only one brake at the moment. I was aware of the extensive micro road network (I would call them fire roads*) thoughout Kamiyama since I purchased excellent maps of the entire area. Setting off from the area known as Orono the fire road winds it’s way along a lazy river (does ニコライ know the rivers name?) until it meets the main road, route 21.
I happened to notice a small trio of construction dons stabilising the river bank. They were stirring up the river with their mechanical contraptions and vigorous mannerisms. I assume this river bank tinkering made the water mizu cloudy. It was quite striking and reminded me of unfiltered sake.
If you need a reference point, cast your eyes downward.
*Fire Road – Roads cut into forests to facilitate fire fighting.
