we become adept at what we truly love
Adam's Diary 2009.2.15
An elderly lady with a shaved head is eating an ice cream cone at the farmer’s market. It is a wonderful day.
A child with orange hair down to his chin approaches her with his gloved hand outstretched.
Child: “Can you spare a dollar for the needy?”
Lady: “What for.”
Child: “For love of your fellow human.”
Lady: “You cannot truly love money, because it is not real, well, okay it is palpable, but the pulp can be torn… so economists are just counting & stacking negatives upon negatives upon their halitosis. Try chewing that bark before you print numbers on it.”
Child: “Okay, I love ice cream, can you spare me a lick of your peach ice cream?”
Lady: “No.”
