Today at Shimobun Atelier
2009 2009.2.17
I went to Shimobun Atelier for the first time in a long while.
Normally at this time of year, the residence is over and Shimobun Atelier is very quiet, but this year it’s a slightly different story.
It’s Adam World, made of Awa Washi handmade paper. It seems his work is coming along at a good solid pace. (Adam has been staying in Kamiyama since January as a part of the Bed & Studio program. See Adam’s diary.)
Adam seems to be spreading out and using every possible surface in the studio, but in one far corner, it appears that Emma has been doing some work too.
Adam says he’s planning on holding an exhibition incorporating the diary entries he’s been posting daily, as well as paintings, photographs, and music. We’ll all be looking forward to the unveiling in March.
