
Art in Kamiyama 2009: Adam Avikainen

The first participant in Kamiyama's Art & Studio program, Adam Avikainen, will arrive in Kamiyama on January 20.
Adam, who is originally from the United States, lives in the Netherlands now and has had solo exhibitions in Italy, the Netherlands, England, and Finland, carrying on most of his activities in Europe. Last year he participated in the Center for Contemporary Art in Kita-Kyushu's residency program and held two solo exhibitions during his stay there.
Adam plans to stay in Kamiyama until April, and create some watercolor works using Awa Washi paper. He is also considering holding an exhibition during his stay. Stay tuned for more details!
