Diary 2011.2.9
It is down here…
And it is up here…
And it is along this little path here…
And it is a small shrine moulded from concrete…
And then it is a shrine carved from rock in a clearing at the top…
And the stone and the carving are very fine…
This is 寿老人 (Jurojin) the God of longetivity. Yorosiku onegaisimasu.
And the view is onoji…
And the metal is a test of longetivity…
And it is forests…
And it is towards that dark hole in the rock…
And it is inside…
And it is shakey… I can hear some wild animal thrashing around somewhere close by…Hopefully it is a deer or a tortoise or a crane…
And it is the sound of a wild boar grunting and smashing towards me and I’m yelling and jumping onto a metal pylon and I feel safe from wild boar. And I am thinking it is getting dark now and I have to climb down from here and walk back through the woods…I still hear an animal snorting and I am thinking I am glad I prayed to 寿老人 and so I leave my life in his hands…And i’m writing this at home next to a kerosene heater.
