Agawa Ume – Plum Processing Workshop
Diary 2008.6.10
Kamiyama’s famous plums are in season!
The Agawa region is one of Shikoku’s largest plum-producing areas. We’ll teach you how to process plums in this fun hands-on workshop.
Normally, umeboshi pickled plums are made using green, unripe plums, but in this workshop we’ll be using the old-fashioned method of pickling ripe plums, and we’ll also make plum syrup, which can be made into a refreshing drink with soda or water. Participants will be able to bring home some of the syrup that is made during the workshop.
