Processing some wheat
Diary 2012.9.23
Amazingly I found a spare moment to process the wheat that’s been hanging, drying on a clothes line outside my house for a month or so. I used some rubber gloves to rub the stalks (an improvised threshing method) to loosen the grain. I then had to separate the grain from the chaff and to do this I used an electric fan. Whinnowing is something I’ve always wanted to try. A satifying process. I’ll be planting this wheat and then hopefully next year I can make some flour.
