Open call: S6IX Kamiyama Accelerator program 2020
Diary 2019.12.16
The International Chamber of Innovation, Commerce & Enterprise (ICICE) and Green Valley, Inc.(NPO法人グリーンバレー) are co-founding Sector Six (S6IX), the Kamiyama International Accelerator program in Kamiyama, Tokushima on Japan’s Shikoku Island. The ICICE is a Japan-based international business league made up of “knowledge professionals”from academia, government, and private sector who understand the knowledge economy. We favor the principle of intangible assets (i.e., human capacity, intellectual capital, know-how, etc.) as value drivers. We share a common ambition—sustained prosperity for our businesses, institutions and knowledge clusters.
The ICICE serves as a global platform for networking, exchange and enterprise-building for we who are interested in exploring the potential for research innovation, technology investment and licensing.
The accelerator offers market entry opportunities to international tech and non-tech startups in agriculture, food, CPG, nutrition and healthcare, as related to improving access and quality. A recruitment process is run for the accelerator, involving scouting and engagement by ICICE.
Sector Six
Japan’s “Sixth Industrialization” has advanced efforts to comprehensively and integrally promote agriculture as a primary industry, manufacturing as a secondary industry, and logistics/retail as a tertiary industry to encourage rural regions to innovate, generate new added value while utilizing local resources and achieve revitalization from within.
Farming communities are drawing attention due to their potential value for future economic growth. Rural resources in Japan are increasingly sources of clean energy and as components for the development of new materials for applications in nutrition, medicine, healthcare and more.
S6IX is an intensive 1-to-4 week program tailor-made to participating entrepreneurs as they found or expand their startups on Shikoku Island in Kamiyama, Tokushima, Japan. S6IX recreates the “farm-to-retail” vertical integration of primary, secondary, and tertiary industries (1 x 2 x 3=6) with a program that
spans sectors, diversifies industries and continues to internationalize Kamiyama.
