We came across a box of charcoal in our local shop and were surprised to see some unfamiliar shapes alongside the more traditional types.
Can you guess what they were before being turned into charcoal?

1. Orange!
2. Pine Cone (you got that yes?)
3. Cucumber!!
4. Bamboo (if you didn’t get that then…)
5. Banana!!!
Apparently there is someone in the area who makes charcoal as a hobby. We shall try and find out more..!
I love the idea of drawing with a cucumber.
I wonder if anything organic can be made into charcoal?

Two bananas!? That would be just be too weird Keiko :) I want to know if he can make charcoal out of cheese or maybe even a fish - perhaps anago? or maguro? tako?
