VAAM (Nests)
Diary 2010.4.17
‘The population of Kamiyama has dropped from 20,000 to just over 6,000 in 20 years (this statistic does not include the movement of insects or birds). Although these empty nests would seem a suitable metaphor for the decline in population within Kamiyama, there is a recent trend (that is independent of seasonal migration) whereby old nests are reinhabited by new residents attracted to the region.’
