Yoriiza Theater: Start of Restoration Work
Diary 2007.5.13
Yorii-za was a theater long ago – both movies and live theater. Then it was a textile factory up until a few years ago. It had been sitting empty when Green Valley decided to renovate it and use it as an event/art space. There was a low ceiling put in when it was converted to a factory so it would be easier to heat, but this was taken away today to reveal the original ceiling, which is covered in old advertisements for local businesses.
Chan made a delicious lunch for everyone of butter chicken, green pea rice, chickpea salad, and naan. There was Moroccan-style mint tea, too!
