Wolf MOON is touring internationally August – October 2016 with performances in Berlin, Gothenburg, at the International Dance and Theatre Festival, in Stockholm and in Kamiyama.

Frauke is a principal butoh practitioners based in Sweden. She has developed her own genre within the dance form. Since 2015 she has collaborated with Green Valley/KAIR through independent artistic research especially focused on local dance rituals "amagoi odori" and creating new work at the Yorii-za Theatre. Last year she gave the performance Nagaame MOON, an outdoor performance on the mountain at Skii-land, Kamiyama. For this production she is collaborating with costume designer Hiromi Onodera from Tokushima, educated at Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, Belgium and Musashino Art of University, Tokyo. The central theme of the performance Wolf is to highlight the relationship between day and night, the cycles of the moon, and how it affects nature's drives and instincts. The performance Wolf explores our basic needs, how they act in tune with the phases of the moon and the interplay of day and night. Wolves relation to the moon is a sign of their affinity with its life giving force. The costume is inspired by wolves similar behavior to human beings; they do care about their family and live as a pack. Hiromi's personal keywords are "Family", "Bond", "Love", and "Pray". In ancient times, people believed that the wolf is the bond of God and an object for worship and pray.

Wolf MOON

Dawnland. Howling, the pack joins in, the beat of the drum sweeps along as rolling waves over the hills, through the darkness. The moon flows down as warm milk. A white river takes its form. Whirling, playing, caresses every forgotten furrow.
Light steps, faster than shadows. See without being seen. Scenting and feeling the scent of the moon river.
Wild, powerful jumps, in balance and erasing. Emerge and land softly.

Wolf is the final performance in the trilogy MOON. The moon's gravitational force controls the rhythm and cycle of water. It is the middle ground between the light of the sun, the darkness of night, and the sphere between the conscious and the unconscious.
