Rakuon Rakujitsu will be holding its annual Winter Peace Festival again this year.
This year’s theme is “Happy Dancing!”
Everyone needs to get together and dance once in a while.
We’ll be holding a dance workshop with drums for everyone to play.

What is Rakuon Rakujitsu?
This event got its inspiration from the local children’s Christmas party. All the children came home with tons of junk food. “Huh?” we thought. “That’s not right. If we want it done right, let’s do it ourselves! Let’s make a party that’s healthy and fun for our bodies and souls.” And that’s how the Rakuon Rakujitsu event started nine years ago. Now it’s not just a festival in name, but as the name “Rakuon Rakujitsu” (Fun Sound Fun Day) suggests, it’s a time to have fun and create a peaceful environment. This event came from a mother’s wish to spend a relaxing few days with friends while eating meals out of the same pot, and doing the things we like to do!
There are lots of fun things planned for this year.

Date: December 25 at 15:00 until December 27 at 16:00 (three days total)
Place: Kamiyama Skiland Hotel (but you can’t ski there anymore) Kamiyama, Tokushima Prefecture

A multitude of musicians will be performing in a variety of styles including latin beats, indian music, kalimba, folk music, children’s songs, and more!

Meals:
Chef: Rastaman Uihiko will be in charge. Local vegetables will be the star of these healthy and fun meals! “By recieving life we are able to continue living, eating from the same pot helps us enjoy life!” is our motto!

Mochitsuki: On the last night, we’ll have a mochitsuki (mochi rice pounding event) Then we’ll have a big pot of “zoni” and eat it together!

2 nights 3 days (six meals)
Adult: ¥20,000
Child only: ¥20,000 (Family discount: subtract ¥5,000)

1 night 2 days (three meals)

1 day (lunch included)

Child only: ¥5,000 (Family discount: subtract ¥1,000)

*1 day participants can stay for dinner (reservation/fee required)

Families with lots of children can get a group discount
Individual workshops require additional fees (¥500 to ¥2,000)
Children will all be enrolled in accident insurance (¥300)
The venue is a hotel in the mountains that we’ll have all to ourselves!
Bring your own toiletries
Bring warm socks, long underwear, etc.
We’re looking for volunteer staff
Staff: if you can come a day early or on the day, either way, we welcome you!
We’ll need help in the kitchen, with children’s activities, and with tidying up.

December 27 (Sunday)

11:00 – mochitsuki, then lunch
14:00 – final concert
